We’re here to cheer you on, collaborate on projects, and share successes! Whether you’re reading our newsletter in your inbox or scrolling Instagram on your lunch break, you’re part of a creative community that believes teaching should be joyful.
The first thing is getting you set up with your school devices.
Getting started with a new school device shouldn’t feel overwhelming.
Take a breath—we’ve got your back. This guide walks you through setup in just a few simple steps so you can get back to what you do best: teaching. 🙌
Let’s make your Mac yours! Updating your login password helps keep your information safe and secure.
At the top-left of your screen, click the Apple menu, then System Settings,
then select Users & Groups in the sidebar.
Click the info (i) button next to your name.
Select Change Password.
Enter your current password, then your new password (twice to confirm).
Add a password hint — just enough to jog your memory if you forget.
Click Change Password to save.
Remember 💡 Your login password is used to unlock your Mac when you turn it on or wake it from sleep. It is separate from your School Google Account password.
At the top-left of your screen, click the Apple menu > System Settings.
Select Touch ID & Password from the sidebar.
Click Add Fingerprint, enter your password, then follow the onscreen steps.
With Touch ID, you can unlock your Mac with a simple tap of your finger. It’s security that feels a little like magic.
Since your school runs on Google, Chrome is your best friend for browsing.
Open Google Chrome.
Click the Profile icon (top right corner).
Select Sign in to Chrome.
Enter your school Google account email and password.
When prompted, click Yes, I’m in or Turn on Sync.
When you sign in to Chrome with your school Google account, you can log into most apps and services instantly—no extra usernames or passwords to remember.
Think of it as your all-access teacher pass.
Open Settings.
Tap Face ID & Passcode or Touch ID & Passcode.
Enter your current passcode (the temporary code we set up).
Tap Change Passcode or Turn Passcode On.
Enter your new passcode (you may be asked to enter it twice).
We’ve created a temporary passcode for you. Be sure to change it to a preferred passcode you will remember. This keeps your information safe and secure, so you can work confidently anywhere.
Make sure your passcode is one you can easily remember, but your students can't discover! 🤓
Open Settings.
Tap Touch ID & Passcode.
Enter your passcode.
Tap Add a Fingerprint and follow the onscreen instructions.
With a quick tap you can unlock your iPad and sign in securely without typing a thing.
Since your school runs on Google, Chrome is your best friend for browsing. Accessing Google Drive on your iPad means your lesson plans, handouts, and student work are just a tap away, no matter where you are. Gmail on your iPad keeps you connected, without being chained to your desk.
Locate and open the Google Drive app.
Tap Sign in.
Enter your school Google account email and password.
Tap Next and follow the prompts.
If you've successfully signed into Google Drive, you might be signed into Gmail automatically. If not, go ahead and repeat the steps when you launch the Gmail app.
